The Girls of Summer

" The girls" are loving summer with all the treats from the garden and the fruits of summer.  Every time I walk down to see them to gather the eggs, they think I'm bringing them a treat.  Their favorites are blackberries and grapes.  They love it when I mow on " little red" around their house.  You would think they would be afraid of the noise but they aren't.  They go crazy over all the grass that gets blown into their yard, as I pass by on the mower.  Who ever made up the phrase...." the lazy days of summer" must not have had a garden and chickens....ha
