A Trip to Brambly Pines

Well, we weren't planning on a summer trip to the land until this last week when I got a text from the BNOE saying that she had gone over to put one of our birdhouses back that she had borrowed so a nice little old man down the road could use it for a pattern to make her a few (she wants to give them as gifts) and there was a small tree that had fallen onto the end of the TT. She said there wasn't really any damage to the TT as far as she could tell but we need to get it off. Then, the report of how high the grass and weeds have grown, we really need to go bush hog and clean things up. They have had a lot of rain up there all Spring and Summer. At least when she checked on the leak that Chuck had fixed this winter that was over my bed.... it didn't seem to be leaking any more. Since after July 22 Chuck won't be working any more ( not of his choosing) we are going to plan our trip, sometime in Aug. I have to line up our kitty feeder, someone to come water every other day for me (which I have a nice" spend the day " friend who said she would do it) and let our RE guy know that we are going to be gone so either not show the house for a week or he can come when it's being shown and make sure Annie doesn't get out and stage the house. We can get away with being gone for about a week with all of this help. I am excited about getting to go up for even a short time. I miss everyone and all our "stuff". I just want a few days of what summer is suppose to be. I think we will be too late to pick blackberries though since they are always ready around July 4th. Maybe we can go pick peaches on the halves though. Ya just never know what kind of fun you will have up there. Of course I will take pictures of whatever the fun is. Can't wait to be able to spend the weekend ( on the way back to Florida) with Gene and George. All our trips include laughing our butts off with G and G. Just what we need with having to deal with being stuck here in Florida. Can't sell a house if no one comes to look at it and it's been almost a month now, since anyone came. I try and not think about it. At least now, I have something to think about......going to the land in a few weeks.

Two LONG years!

July 4th, 2009! Two years ago today, we put the house up for sale. ...sigh. I never dreamed that it would take so long to sell a house in Florida, much less in our neighborhood, where no house sat for over a month before it was sold. Of course that was three years ago though. It is so depressing to still be here and not living on the land. I feel like we are missing out on so much by not living up there .....our good friends, growing the garden and wonderful flowers, hiking in the forest, exploring all the places around us and being able to sit out on the porch in the mornings and evenings during the summer and watch the humming birds. The new house, could be going up and all my dreams would be coming true. I guess I just have to sit here in " so called paradise" and keep dreaming. I sure hope it's not for another two years.
