We knew we were going to need a green house up here but we should have made it one of the first things we did. Thinking that the stag horns and the other plants that we brought up here were safe in the barn.....we found out we were wrong. When it got " really cold" outside, it got below freezing in the barn. Needless to say, the stag horns are all " brown". I don't think they are dead but it will take years and years for them to ever be green and as big as they were. Chuck made a tent out of plastic, inside the barn with using the stack of boxes as the sides. He put two lamps with 75 watts light bulbs under the tent. It has kept the temperature warmer than was it is in the barn. It's just a little late, for keeping the plants pretty and green though. Next month will be time to start our garden plants and now I will have the green house to use. We have a little heater to put inside to keep the temps from being below freezing. One more project that is almost done.
