Glenda Yarbrough |
Our small town book club read the book " Under the Fish Pond" by Glenda Yarbrough, this last month. It was a novel based on a true story. Over 20 years ago, a man that lived in Decatur, Alabama killed his wife and buried her under a fish pond that he built in his back yard. He got away with it for three years, until they foreclosed on his house. When the bank sold the house, the neighbor told the new people that his wife was buried under the fish pond. She was a nosey neighbor and thought she was under the fish pond the whole time. The man who bought the house, tore up the fish pond and sure enough, found the parts of the wife. If the guy would have just paid his house payments, he would have gotten away with it forever. That's the story in a nut shell but it was really a good book. Of course the man is in jail and will never get out. The house is on the east side of Decatur. Chuck and I are going to go check it out...ha.
