Decorating

It had been at least five years since we have had a real Christmas tree. There came a time in my life where it was hard for me to let go and realize that our family had gotten smaller when it came to holidays. Then, it came time to pack up as much stuff as I could to store in the barn and put the house up for sale. That lasted for two years....any ways....last year we were in the TT and I was excited to have a real tree again and I decorated the TT as much as I could. Remember, we couldn't even turn the lights on the tree until three days before Christmas. When I started seeing all the Christmas trees for sale, it made me want one. Soooooo, off to town we went the Monday after Thanksgiving and bought the tallest tree we have ever had. (we have 9 ft ceilings) It's at least 8 ft tall! For the past three years or so, I've been collecting ornaments that have to do with our " Alabama lives". Most of them are pretty but there are some pretty funny ones on there too. While Shell was here for Thanksgiving, she made me two huge bows and Chuck wired them to the top of the tree and I made the streamers come down to the bottom of the tree. It turned out really pretty. She also made me a big bow for the mail box. People decorate their mail boxes for the holidays up here. Some of those are pretty and some are pretty tacky too...lol. At least we get a laugh on the way to town from them. I pretty much have the house all decorated but still need to finish up the front porch. Hoping to get that done this week. ...in the cold. ( suppose to get snow this weekend...(smiling) ).
