A day in the gardens

While Chuck has been building the Hen Pen, I've been spending my days in the gardens. There is constantly weeding and more planting. By the time I get one garden weeded, it's time to start on another one. When I mowed around all the gardens the other day, I put Mom's antique plow in the middle of the melon patch to get it out of the way so I could mow. When Chuck came down to see what I had been doing, he started to use the plow to weed between the row, just goofing around. Welllllllll, it worked really well and I decided that I should use the old plow to help with the weeding. I can only use it right after it rains and the clay is wet. There is no using anything once that red clay gets dry and hard. It's a wonder the plants can push their way up out of it. Chuck said that my mom would have really gotten a kick out of me using the old plow and he's right. He did take time out from the hen pen, to put some more wire up for the beans and peas to grow on. He also brought the little boy statue down from the barn, for my rose garden. Things are starting to bloom so that means we will have veggies soon. The pumpkins have huge big yellow blossoms. It's time to pick some more lettuce and I think the radishes will be ready in a day or so. I'm having so much fun with all the gardens.
