Running around the Mansion and yard. |
Well, it finally happened. One of " the girls" got out. Chuck went down to let them out in their yard for the day and Miss Prissy was sitting in the first nesting box by the door. When he opened the door....out she went! He watched to see where she went but she just hung around in the woods right there by the mansion. I just knew we could never catch her so we let her go. We checked on her where abouts during the day. At one time, she had gone over to the cow pasture next to us and I didn't think we would ever see her again. When it came time to put the rest of the girls to bed that evening, I put them all in the house and then opened the door wide, to the yard. Here came Prissy.....she heard the girls in the house and went into the yard. I ran and closed the door behind her. Then, I opened their little door to the house and I think she was happy to go through it. Her "day of freedom" was over. I know that is how she would like to spend all her days but it was too nerve wrecking knowing that she wasn't safe in the woods. At least we know, that if any more of them get outside....they will come back home to roost for the night.
