Pickled Okra

Well, I did it!  We went to the Moulton Farmer's Market the other morning and bought a basket of okra.  The girl who was selling it was so sweet.  All the baskets had big okra in it...too big for pickling.  When she asked me if she could help me, I told her I was looking for some okra to pickle.  She said she would go through all her baskets and pull out the smallest ones and make me a basket of them.  It took her awhile but we just stood and talked while she did it.   I came home and started pickling.  It wasn't hard.  I used my new canning cook book that I had gotten at the work shop a couple of weeks ago.  I had enough for six pints.  I can see my Mom's face with her mouth open, shaking her head, not believing that I'm eating okra!  ..ha  She's be surprised on a lot of things that I have done since moving to Alabama.
