12 Days of Christmas

Shell started a new tradition for her and I last year. She sent me 12 Days of Christmas. She mailed a present every day for the 12 days but it got messed up in the mail. One day I wouldn't have a present and then I would have two or three. When we decided that this should be our new tradition this year, we bought our 12 presents through out the year for each other and wrapped them all at once. I had mine ready for Shell when she was here for Thanksgiving. I sent them home with her in a big box, so I wouldn't have to mail them. She ended up sending mine in the mail....all in one box. We numbered them and put them under our trees. Couldn't wait until it was time for us to start opening them. It's so much fun to wake up to a present every day. They all might not be a " big" present....just something little like an ornament for the tree, a pack of pretty napkins, a CD with pictures on it and then it could be a box of clear stamps to use for scrap booking, a $5 gift card for Starbucks or a pretty wine bottle stopper. For 12 days, I get to have a little Christmas with Shell. Come Christmas day....it will just be Chuck and I and the three kitties......a big difference from having two children, a grand child and other family members and friends to share our Christmas in the past. I do wish I could share Christmas with my children but I wouldn't have it any other way than having our Christmas on Brambly Pines. It's the perfect ending to an exciting year......and what an adventure it has been.
