Oktoberfest!

Funny German people made out of bales of hay.

Cute little girl, dressed up in her German clothes.

We were told that Oktoberfest in Cullman was really nice, so we went down to check it out. Wellllllll, what can I say? lol. There was one man playing " the chicken song" and a couple of other German songs. ( they needed George Blomberg here to " really play some German songs) They had one table of " German trinkets" to buy and you could get "cabbage rolls" and " brats" to eat. I guess I'm spoiled from growing up with a " real German family", eating " real German food" and then actually going to " Germany" to see it all for myself. After walking around town and eating a " brat", we left and went to the used book store that we go to every time we go down to Cullman. I got a huge bag of books for only $5! After that, we went to the "flea market" and found four antique dining room chairs that I had been looking for. After getting them in the back of the Explorer, we bought two bunches of " corn stalks" to decorate the back posts to the back porch. They reached from the wind shield to the back window of the Explorer...lol. Our last stop was at the " Amish Bakery" to buy some bread, butter and some herbs. It was a full day and even though, I wasn't impressed with " Oktoberfest", I'm glad we went. Oh! ...we did have a good laugh at the funny " German people made out of bales of hay". We noticed several sets of them all around town. Someone had a creative mind!
