House Update

It seems things are going slower now, but they are still getting done. The whole house has the dry wall up and taped. They are starting to skim coat it today. When my Dad built our house, I was around 14 years old and when I saw the dry wallers, walking around in those stilts, I wanted to try them on, so one of the guys put them on me. I thought it was so cool being that tall! I have a picture of me on the stilts..( somewhere in the barn).Don't think I"ll ask if I can try them on now. I'd probably fall off of them and break my leg. Yesterday, the front porch posts were put up but they have to be wrapped yet. All of the siding is on and the back porch has it's floor and posts. The septic tank guy came yesterday and any day now, they will be moving the BIG pile of dirt and digging the hole for the septic tank. Since we are coming in under "budget" we're going to let the painters paint the inside of the house, instead of me painting it. It's a bit overwhelming...looking at all those rooms with 9 ft ceilings that needs to be painted. Plus, with it being naked dry wall, I would have to prime everything and then put at least two coats of paint on it all. It would take me a month, when I'm sure the painters can have it all done in a week or so. The only thing that I'm painting is furniture. ....my bedroom furniture, Chuck's bedroom furniture, the twin dresser ( which is done) and the kitchen island....not to mention all of the wicker, wrought iron and my bed. Wheewwwwww lots of painting.
