Janice!

Part of my "Mother's day " present was Shell helping me in the garden and she made the woman scare crow to go in the pumpkin patch. After, we weeded the melon patch, we went over to Billy's to see if he had a gourd that we could use for the head of the scare crow. Yep...we came home with three of them. Chuck cut the hole for the mouth and Shell painted it. Then, we started cutting pieces of yellow rope and taking it all apart to use for her hair. After dinner, Shell and I went back down to the barn to work on it....it took forever!!!! While we listened to the radio and talked, I took the rope apart, while Shell hot glued it on as hair. When we got the whole head covered, Shell glued the nose on and then she said it looked like " Janice Joplin" and made the head sing " Oh Lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz". We laughed so hard, we were crying. We decided that " Janice"had to be her name and the guy scare crow's name was " Bobby McGee". It's all even funnier to us because Chuck likes " Janice Joplin" and thinks she can sing...LOL. It was 10:00 before we left the barn, for the TT. It's a scary walk up the long drive way, in the dark, but we were still laughing so it went by fast. Things like this, is what makes the best memories. Every time I look at "Janice" in the pumpkin patch, I think of the fun time we had birthing her.
